Philip Asborno joined the Collins Electrical Company, Inc. family in 1959. Phil has a wonderfully unique story as he was initially hired by CECI as a Secretary because of his, at that time, rare ability to take shorthand and type.
Through taking dictation from the company owners, Phil, was exposed to the daily operations of the electrical contracting industry and learned how to problem solve through first hand interaction. As a student of the trade, Phil, spent time learning accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll when he was not taking dictation and his commitment to learning all facets of the business lead him in to an apprenticeship.
Phil’s apprenticeship rounded out his knowledge of the industry as upon completion he entered into journeyman level work and spent time in the estimating department.
Phil graduated from Stockton College with an Associate of Arts Degree. He and his wife, of 49 years, Kathleen, have two daughters, Elizabeth and Angela.
