Collins recently completed an addition of a new 78-bed Women and Children's Pavilion. Led by Turner Construction as the general contractor, the project was to build a new 152,000-square-foot building with three floors and an underground parking garage. With maternity wings, neonatal intensive care units (ICU), and adult ICU. Other unique features included a pedestrian walkway bridge connecting the new pavilion with the existing hospital and two courtyards. St Joseph's new addition will house the latest technological advances in medical care for quality patient care. Collins Electrical was involved in design assist at preconstruction and during construction meticulously installed over 900 light fixtures, carried all low voltage systems (nurse call, fire alarm, security, infant-theft prevention, code blue, etc.), a new 1500KW backup generator and replaced the existing hospitals 12KV primary service.
